We capture information on the usage of the app, including details of the bills that you have scanned and their breakdown.
We identify which device has scanned each bill, but we do not capture any personal information that can be used to identify you or your friends
If you allow us, we capture an approximate location (within 1km) of usage of the app
We use the above information for analytics to determine how we can improve the app
If you allow us, we capture an identifier that would allow us to link the activity in BillySplits with activity in 3rd party apps and websites. We do not currently do this (see below)
Currently we do not share any information with 3rd parties. However, in the future we plan to use this information for providing targeted advertising and offers, e.g. a 10% off voucher for a nearby restaurant. If we do this, we may share your usage information with 3rd parties to allow them to offer targeted advertising. However, before doing this, we will update our privacy policy and ensure that data is only shared by users who agree to share their information
We only capture information while the app is active and information that was generated within the app itself; we do not capture any information while the app is in the background, or that was generated from elsewhere (e.g. photos, files, activity logs, etc.)
